I’m currently working on a small camper van project and want to add a pop-up shelf using a linear actuator. Needs to be weather-resistant and compact but still strong enough to lift the panel smoothly. Anyone here tried something like this and found an actuator that works well for van builds?

Thanks for the solid recommendation! I’ve been going back and forth on actuator options for my desk, and Progressive Automations looks like they’ve made it super easy for DIY folks like me. Already bookmarked the model you mentioned — I’m excited to give it a shot.
Yes! I recently did a small camper conversion and ended up using an actuators for sale from Progressive Automations https://progressiveautomations.com.au/collections/linear-actuators to lift a storage compartment. They have compact, weather-resistant models that are perfect for van and RV setups. I’d recommend looking at their PA-04 or PA-17 models — they’re durable, IP-rated, and designed for outdoor use. What I liked is that they also have good support documentation, so figuring out the power requirements and installation was pretty straightforward. Mine has been working flawlessly for a few months now, even through rough weather. Plus, the form factor is great when space is tight. Definitely take a look — they’re one of the few actuator suppliers I trust for mobile builds.
